
Dance education
Alena Papina has been in movement, fitness and dance for more than 20 years. Starting with swimming, jogging, ballet, vocal and acting classes in her childhood, Alena then chose dancing as her main field of practice.
Her background collects street dance techniques (hip-hop, house, waacking, vogue, dancehall), contemporary dance (floorwork, modern, release techniques, Axis Syllabus, Laban analysis, somatics, contact improvisation, partnering), classical dance (parterre gymnastics, Vaganova method, contemporary ballet).
Alena holds an MA degree in Choreography (Hons) from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet (Saint-Petersburg, Russia, 2015-2017), being a graduate of Artistic Practices Of Contemporary Dancing program. Besides that, Alena was nourishing her contemporary dancing skills on a variety of professional trainings: Movement Research (New York, USA, 2016), School of New Dance Development (Amsterdam, Netherlands, 2017), PERA School of Performing Arts (Girne, Northern Cyprus, 2024).
Since 2021 Alena got involved in martial arts practices (MMA, jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, judo), acrobatics, aerial gymnastics and soccer, as well as a variety of fitness and stretching techniques.
Her focus of interest now is in-depth knowledge in biomechanics, physiology and kineseology.
