Alena identifies herself as a dancer, performer, choreographer, educator, curator, traveller and cultural nomad, researcher, text writer, solopreneur and community developer.

Alena holds several degrees:

• Specialist (BA+MA) in Journalism (Moscow State University, Faculty of Journalism, Radio Department, Moscow, Russia, 2009-2015)
• MA degree (Hons) in Choreography (Vaganova Ballet Academy, Artistic Practices in Contemporary Dance program, Saint-Petersburg, Russia, 2015-2017)
• Certificate of Сompletion in Teaching and Research, Doctorate Program in Art History and Practice (HSE School of Art and Design, Moscow, Russia, 2018-2021).

Alena has been travelling a lot and living in various spots around Europe, Asia, USA and Russia. As of September 2022, she resides in Tbilisi, Georgia as an artist-in-exile.
